HISTORICAL DOCUMENT SIGNED BY YITZCHAK BEN-ZVI AND RABBI MOSHE OSTROVSKY

A court ruling on behalf of 'The National Committee of Knesset Yisrael in the Land of Israel' which arranges the cooperation between the members of the 'Histadrut Labor Federation' and the members of 'Ha'Peol Ha'Mizrachi' – the first day of the Rodgas group (Yavne Kibbutz), signed by Yitzchak Ben-Zvi and Rabbi Ostrovsky (Ha'Meiri). 28.8.1932.
Most of the laborers in the country, from the laboring settlements, were unionized in the 'Histadrut Labor Federation, which was identified with the Zionist labor parties. The religious laborers were unionized in 'Ha'Peol Ha'Mizrachi'. These two unions cooperated for years against the background of their common values and goals of building the country and protecting the laborers' rights. This cooperation continued in later years, after the establishment of the State, in what was then called 'The historical alliance'. Naturally, there were tensions against the background of the ideological differences between religious and non-religious people and the different political parties.
The document before us deals with a disagreement between the employment office of the Histadrut and the Rodgas Group of 'Ha'Poel Ha'Mizrachi', which settled near Petach-Tikvah.
The heads of the National Committee – Yitzchak Ben-Zvi and Rabbi Moshe Ostrovsky wrote their 'verdict' concerning the above disagreement, basing their opinion on the clauses of the agreement that was signed between the Histadrut and Ha'Poel Ha'Mizrachi.
The document was typewritten and hand-signed by Yitzchak Ben-Zvi and rabbi Ostrovsky.
