“Obligatory praying”: Proclamation by the Chief Rabbinate calling for prayers for the wellbeing of the Baron de Rothschild. Jerusalem.
“A telegraph message arrived from Paris that the elderly respected philanthropist, father of the Yishuv… Rabbi Binyamin… de Rothschild, may he live long and prosper, is deathly sick, may G-D have mercy upon him…”
Notice calls for all the residents of the Land of Israel, and particularly those of Jerusalem, to pray for his full recovery and general wellbeing. Signed, at the bottom, “Avraham Yitzchak Ha’Cohen Kook, Chief Rabbi of the Land of Israel”.
