A proclamation by Aharon Rosenblatt, a worker in the Migdal-Tiberius dairy farm, offering a reward of ten Egyptian Lira “to whoever notices and notifies me of possessions stolen from me”. Amongst the stolen items: unique rings, pins, and earings. One of the rings belongs to Sara Guttbetter. No date, estimated before the 1920s.
Sara Guttbetter died of Typhus at the age of 20 during the First World War, and was buried at the Safed cemetery. Her father was Rabbi Eliyahu Guttbetter, a Karlin Hassid and manager of the “Ezrat Ha’Galil” orphanage in Safed, who was a member of the secret society “Achva”.
A unique proclamation, which informs us one method of seeking lost and stolen articles in those days.
Good condition. Stains, small tear in the upper part of the page, fold marks and creases.
