Two sections of the Darchei Moshe on Orech Chaim and Yoreh De’ah bound together, by Rabbi Moshe Isserles, the Rama. Stefanski Yesod #154. This is in practice a complete set, no other sections were printed subsequently (other than Choshen Mishpat, printed much later in Jerusalem 1979-1983).

A: Darchei Moshe on Orech Chaim by the Rama—first edition, Furth 1760. [1], 87 leaves. Moth holes, light wear in the margins of the leaves, good condition.

B: Darchei Moshe on the Yoreh De’ah, first edition Zulzbach 1692. [2], 106 leaves. Tape on the title page, a few moth holes, wear in the margins, good condition.

Among the pages are stamps of Rabbi Haim Berlin, head of the Volozhin yeshiva. Rabbi Haim Berlin of Volozhin was the son of the Natziv. He served as Chief Rabbi of Moscow, and as the most famous Rosh Yeshiva in the world, of the Volozhin yeshiva (known as the Mother of Yeshivot). In 1906 he moved to Jerusalem, and after the death of Rabbi Shmuel of Salant he became leader of the Ashkenazi Eida in Jerusalem, even though he refused the official position.
