Poster – Israeli Missile Launched to Space – 1961
Poster, an Israeli missile was successfully launched to space this morning. No printer name. [1961]. Hebrew.
Logo of Davar newspaper appears on top of the poster; in the center appears a text "the rocket was planned, built and launched by a team of Israeli scientists and technicians… purposes of experiment were achieved. The missile was named 'Shavit 2'".Some claim that 'Shavit 2' was a fake rocket built by Israel in the 1960s for purposes of deterrence and psychological warfare against Egypt. The rocket was presented by Israel as a long-range rocket sent to space, a new power held at the time by the two super-powers, while according to arguments, it exploded in the air about 10 seconds after the launch.
70X50 cm, fair-good condition. Folding marks and some tears along folding marks, some stains.
