Two Photographs – Jewish Authors, Artists and Intellectuals in Europe
* Photograph of a group of Jewish authors priar to departure from Russia. [Odessa], [1921].
Original silver-print of a group photograph – group of Hebrew authors who were permitted to leave the Soviet Russia in 1921, among them H.N. Bialik, Shaul Tchenichovsky, I.H. Ravnitzky, Ben-Zion Dinburg (Dinur), Zvi Woyslawski, Mordechai Sobol, Haim Ettinger and more. Most of the photographed were committee members of "Dvir" publishing house which was founded around that time. This photograph was taken as a souvenir in Odessa prior to their departure.
Photograph mounted on cardboard with name of company, in Russian, on the reverse.
14.5X10 cm. Good condition. Stains and wear. Crease along the photograph.
