Amulet for preservation of a birthing mother. Djair, Algeria, beginning of the 20th century.
Printed with golden ink with illustrations of the Tablets and the Ten Commandments, fish, Star of David, hamsa, and flowers. This amulet is one of a list that were in use above Elijah’s chair during a Brit Milah. Size: 20x22cm. 1920 approximately. Signs of folding and tears, ok to good condition.
