Israel - two folders containing 2 silver coins and one banknote.
First currency: two shekels 1992.
Second currency: Ben Gurion.
Banknote: NIS 50 Ben Gurion.
David Ben-Gurion was the first Prime Minister of the State of Israel.
Ben-Gurion was a member of the Second Aliyah, one of the leaders of the labor movement, a member of the Poalei Zion and Ahdut HaAvodah parties, the first secretary general of the Histadrut of Workers in Eretz Israel and the first leader of Mapai.
In his capacity as Chairman of the Jewish Agency and Chairman of the Zionist Executive, he headed the leadership of the Jewish community in Eretz Israel during the British Mandate, and in his role as Chairman of the People's Executive, he played a key role in drafting the Declaration of Independence. With the establishment of the state he began to work for statehood, and during the War of Independence he decided to dismantle the underground, and signed the ordinance for the establishment of the IDF.
He led the State of Israel as Prime Minister and Minister of Defense for ten and a half years until 1963 (except for a two-year term, 1953-1955). As the first prime minister, he was largely responsible for shaping Israel's democratic image, the nature of the interactions between different sectors of Israeli society, and for designing the implementation mechanisms of many government ministries. During his tenure, the reparations agreement was signed with West Germany, the Sinai War was fought, the Dimona nuclear reactor was established, and hundreds of thousands of immigrants were absorbed. After resigning from the prime minister's office and retiring from Mapai, he established the list of Israeli workers (Rafi) in 1965. In 1970 he retired from political life.
