Halachic Responsa with the Signature of the Author of 'Chelkat Yoav'
[2] pieces of paper. 19x15 cm. Written on both sides of the pages in scribal script and with the handwritten signature of the "Chelkat Yoav". The responsa was sent to Rabbi Yosef Yoskovitz, one of the great Torah scholars of Lodz.
Rabbi Yoav Yehoshua Weingarten (1845-1922) was the student of the great Torah giants of Poland, Rabbi Avraham Landau of Ciechnow, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Alter, author of the 'Chiddushei HaRim' of Gur and Chanoch Henich of Aleksander. He served as the Rabbi of Kintzk and was one of the greatest Halachic authorities in Poland at the beginning of the 20th century. He is known by the name of his book 'Chelkat Yoav'. He wrote a booklet 'Kaba D'Kashyata' in which are 103 [the numerical value of kaba] questions, and the great Rabbis and Torah scholars from then until the present day [!] toiled and are toiling to find answers for the hard questions. This responsa was printed in the booklet 'Mishpat Ha'Arevut' by Rabbi Yosef Yoskovitz [Lodz, 1927].
The margins of the letter were damaged and restored with lacking of a few letters. the signature is complete. Stains. Moderate condition.
