J.F. Kennedy on his last state visit to Italy in July 1963. The President together with Italian Defense Minister Giulio Andreotti in the open Lincoln Continental limousine on a serpentine Roman road.
Giulio Andreotti, 1919-2013, Italian politician and statesman, Minister of Defence in 1963. Member of all governments for half a century, from 1946 to 1992. Figure of Christian democracy and important protagonist of Italian political history.
Born in Milan, the photographer Aldo Durazzi (1925-1990) worked for Gazzetta dello Sport, the agency Farabola and then, after moving to Rome, he founded Dufoto in 1956. During the Dolce Vita years he not only portrayed the elite, but he also reported the great events of news, politics and sport of those years. He worked for major international newspapers until becoming, in the 70s and 80s, correspondent for the Times-Life group and National Geographic.
