Tractate Brachot of the Babylonian Talmud. Vienna, 1860. Student edition.
Some handwritten glosses [cut] within the book, some are long.
On title-page, ownership inscription "Shmuel Shpitzer" and an ink-stamp "David Ha-Levi Shpitzer, Jerusalem" with a drawing of the city of Jerusalem. On bottom of title-page: "Shmuel Ben David Shpitzer ".
The Ga'on Rabbi [Chiya] David Ha-Levi Shpitzer of Pressburg-Vienna. [Disciple of "K'tav Sofer]. Moved to Jerusalem in 1873. Author of the book "Nivreshet" a work on the clarification of the times of sunrise and the halachic hours of the day, which was published by the suggestion and approval of the Maharil Diskin and the sages of Jerusalem. (See about him Kedem catalogue Number 6 item 349. and see hereafter item 523).
64 leaves, 31.5 cm. Poor condition. Stains and tears. Damages roughly restored with scotch-tape and pasted paper. Binding worn out, detached.
