"Hebron – Cave of Patriarchs" – 28 Plates with Photographs and Drawings – Paris, 1923
Hébron – Le Haram El-Khalil, Sépulture des Patriarches [Hebron – Cave of Patriarchs] by L.H. Vincent, F.M. Abel and E.J.H. Mackay. Paris: Ernest Leroux, 1923. Portfolio of plates. This portfolio, originally accompanying a book about the Cave of Patriarchs, presents the research of two researchers from the French Biblical and Archaeological School in Jerusalem, in collaboration with the Inspector of Antiquities for the British Administration in Palestine. The portfolio contains 28 plates with illustrations, photographs and plans of the Cave of Patriarchs. Among the plates: View of Hebron and the Cave; photos taken in the cave and next to it; five large plates, folded: plan of the interior and drawings of the exterior, and more. [4] leaves (two sheets folded in half) + XXVIII plates, some of them folded, 39 cm. Good condition. Creases to the margins of the plates. Stains and small tears to the margins of several plates (the tears are restored with acid-free tape). Stains and minor blemishes to portfolio.
