Esther Scroll – The Netherlands, 18th Century
Esther scroll. [The Netherlands, ca. 18th century].
Ink on parchment, large format. European-Sephardic Stam script (Vellish), with fine varied crown ornaments. The script is typical of the 18th century Netherlands. HaMelech scroll (most columns open with the word "HaMelech").
56 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Creases and wear. Ink fading and peeling to some letters in several places. Placed in old leather pouch, damaged.
