Passover Kiddush Cup – Germany, 18th Century - Passover kiddush cup. Germany, dedicatory inscription dated 5514 [1754]. Silver (marked, maker unknown, Austro-Hungarian import mark); repoussé and engraved; gilt. Octagonal bowl, engraved with intricate vegetal patterns and with the verse ”Keep the month of spring, and make the Passover offering to the Lord” (Deuteronomy 16:1), dated 5514 (1754). Footed, with wide base. Height: 13.5 cm. Diameter: 6.5 cm. Loss to gilding. Provenance: Finkelstein family collection.
