Pink Triangle, WWII
Fabric badge with a pink triangle on it. Homosexual prisoners during World War II were forced to wear the badge. Prisoners in the concentration camps who were identified as homosexuals were required to wear the pink triangle badge on their upper garment, as part of the instructions for wearing the badges that divided the prisoners according to "type". The choice of the color pink for homosexuals was intentional and symbolized the perception that they are soft and feminine men. In the 1970s, the use of a pink triangle began, usually with the apex pointing upwards, as a symbol of protest for LGBT rights. Length of the sides: 12 cm.
