GROMYKO ANDREI: (1909-1989) Soviet Politician. Minister of Foreign affairs 1957-85, and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet 1985.88. Signed folding 7 x 9 white card, the attractive document being issued to commemorate the 50 years of the Soviet Diplomatic Service 1917-1967, and is dated 25th December 1967. To the front cover bearing the printed gilt text ''Commemorative Certificate'' beneath an embossed portrait of Lenin. Signed to the inside page, in fountain pen ink, by USSR Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko, Party Committee Secretary Y. Ligachyov and local Committee Chairman G. Sazhenev, all in Cyrillic. Ligachyov´s signature being slightly illegible. The certificate is issued to Mochalina Valentina Aleksandrovna for her dedicated work at the ministry. Also bearing at the base an ink stamp from the USSR Ministry of Foreign affairs. VG £80-100
