[LUTETIA-PARIS]: Atractive 10 x 16 wouldcut engraving depicting the city of Paris (Lutetia), to the cover page of a work in Latin, entitled `Augustini Hipponensis - Episcopi, Operum, Parsiis. 1614´, related to St-Augustine of Hippo. With a hand written annotation referring to the library of the Carmelites order of Bayonne. Small overall creasing. Framed and glazed to an overall of 11 x 17. G £80-100 Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430) Roman African Theologian and Philospher from Numidia. Bishop of Hippo Regius in north.Africa. He is considered one of the most important Christian Church Fathers in Western Christianty and is recognized as a Saint in the Catholic Church. One of his major works was The City of God. Many Protestants, Calvinists and Lutherans, consider him to be one of the theological fathers of the Protestant Reformation.
