Text in Latin

Rare print with works by the medieval French philosopher, theologian, and political writer Johannes von Jandun (1285-1328), who found refuge with Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian after a conflict with the church.

"His works attracted particular attention in Italy up to the 16th century, but were also sharply criticized during his lifetime, because J., as a representative of radical Aristotelianism, solved all problems without considering faith and ecclesiastical theology [...] and thus opposed the teachings of the Church. "

John of Jandun or John of Jaudun is best known for his outspoken defense of Aristotelianism and his influence in the early Latin Averroist movement.
