GERHARD MATZKY
(1894-1983) German General of the Infantry, commanding several corps, recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. After the war he helped establish the Federal Border Guard of West Germany. Signed b/w photo as commanding general of the XXIV. Army Corps in the fall of 1944 in East Prussia affixed to a card dated 13.8.73 which he signs a second time. 4 x 5.75 inches.
