The engraving illustrates the sacking of the Abbey of Montecassino by the Goths, after the fresco by Ludovico Carracci (now lost). From 'Il claustro di San Giovanni in Bosco di Bologna de’ monaci olivetani…' (Bologna, P. Dalla Volpe, 1776). Fine impression, good condition.
